HELP! Maui / Oahu Digital Camera
We’re going to Maui and Oahu for our honeymoon and I plan to take a lot of photos.
Does anyone know a place where I can take my Sony Memory Stick Pro and download my photos to a CD in Kanapoli Maui and Waikiki Oahu?

we just got back from the big island, but i used the longs drugs on that island to dump photos off my SD card. they had a kiosk with several different types of inputs that could be used for digital media. I can imagine all the longs drugs there had them.
The machine was out of order 2 of the 10 days we were there however.
FYI: don't buy postcards if you have a memory stick. Longs also sold post card backings and you could just print a 4*6 off their machine when you make the photo cd and also make a postcard.

Not sure what part of town you'll be in, but at the back/beach side of Waikiki Shores Hotel next to Fort deRussy park there was a good high speed internet cafe.
I only used email there, but am looking at their flyer and it says digital photo service. The address is 2161 Kalia Road, Suite #110 and phone number is 808-926-4700.

Hawaii Costco Locations:
http://www.costco.com/Warehouse/Loca...nited%20States
After visiting page, scroll down to Hawaii. If you click on the particular store you are interested in, they will list warehouse services, including photo.

Just to make you paranoid: CDs are not 100% reliable storage medium. Take it from someone who has had CDs "go bad" on him more than once. Just keep in mind that there is a small chance you will get home and one of your CDs will not work. If you are willing to accept this small risk of losing pictures, no need to worry further, but if the photos are extremely important to you, I would take precautions.
Whenever I burn CDs on my own, I always always always verify all the files after they are burned. This is just an extra step done by the Nero Software I use and it makes the burn process take about 2X longer. I am not sure this is done automatically when a Long's Drugs place burns images to CD. You might ask - it improves the odds that your CD will be good when you get home.
Here's a thought: if you can find an internet cafe with access to Memory Stick (or a USB port - buy a "card reader" for your memory stick to take with you), you might try emailing the photos to yourself. Get a GMail account (Google E-mail), which has 1GB of storage for free. It might take you a few minutes longer, but emailing your photos to Gmail is probably pretty reliable.

I bought extra memory and dealt with all the pics myself upon return home. Not familiar with the specific unit mentioned but in general memory prices have fallen in the last year or so, so it's not an unreasonable solution to simply buy more.
For me that's preferable to relying upon some store's CD writer.
