Help! Leaving tomorrow. High road or low road, SF to Taos and back
Well, this is really dumb. I'm going through my notes and see I have recommendations for both ways. Which is it? I'll be going from Santa Fe to Taos (one night stay there) then back to Santa Fe. I also need to see Bandolier, and thought I could combine it with the 'low road'.
Is there something wrong with going Santa Fe to Taos by the low road, then coming back by the 'high road' or do I have it backwards?

OK, I'll need some help on this one. My map shows route 76 as the High Road. Is route 68 the low road? We will be coming from Chama and entering Taos on route 64. Which do you suggest using to SF, the high or low road?
When we leave Albuquerque we will visit the San Ildefonso Pueblo. We need suggestions for a place to stay between Espanola and Chama.

The low road if probably quicker. Route 68 is the low road. Check the following link for directions for the high road-see #3 http://santafe.org/Visiting_Santa_Fe..._Do/Day_Trips/
since you are coming from Taos-reverse the directions.
Not many places to stay between Espanola and Chama except Abiquiu http://www.abiquiuinn.com/explore.html

I apologize guys. I didn't get time to respond on here before I flew out. We did take the low road from SF to Taos, then the high road back. Yes, the high road was pretty. It reminded me of driving through the Ochoco forested areas in the mountains of central Oregon.
Oddly, the two hotel staff that I asked about which direction to take the roads had no idea what I was talking about.
