We are finally booked 2nd week in December in Lawai Beach. I have always wanted to go to Kaui and now find that my 3 year old is pretty much exempt from any activities for the adventurous such as sailing and tubing and such. Suggestions would be so appreciated to fill our time with wonderful activities around the island as we are busy bodies and like to see it all. Thanks for any suggestions. The train ride at the plantation is the one activity I am sure we will do.

I'm sure you can take your 3 year old on some easy hikes as well.
-Visit the Kilauea Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge
-Check out the farmers markets
-Visit some botanical gardens
-Rent bikes (hopefully trikes) or walk the Kapaa foot and bicycle path
-Play at the Kamalani Playgound
-Play at the playground at the entrance to Princeville
-If golfers, play an affordable 9 holes at Kukuiolono Park Golf Course, and the rest can ride in the cart for a nominal fee.
-Drive to the Waimea Canyon State Park
-Make great memories!!
Ditto what JCB said....
I took my almost 3 year old in May...loved the train ride and playground at Princeville, but absolutely loved the beach.
That's all he talked about after coming home. He can't wait to go back. He also loved seeing the "mountains".
Almost forgot...loved Tropical Dream Ice cream shop..but so did mom!
gmac beat me to Tropical Dreams....
Other than that I got nuthin'...
