I used Jack Harter Helicopters and it was a good experience also. They offer both closed door and open door tours and I chose the open door to minimize optical distortion for my photos. I'd do it again. It is my impression, although I could be wrong, that all the companies fly pretty much the same routes on their packaged tours.

We actually had Jack himself on our first trip over in '89. a VERY nice gentleman and you could just hear his love for the island in his live narration.
Hopefully he hired and trained his other pilots the same way and from some of these reviews he has.
We did another after Iniki just to see before/after and the hot shot pilot thought he was TC from Magnum.
Can't recall the name but they might be out of bizz.

LOL. We flew with Jack on one of our earlier trips to Kauai (after we bought a place at Princeville) - sometime in the late 80's and he's great - and really careful/safe. He also did a great narrative on the history of the island - the sugar plantations, etc.
Was also on island a week after Hurricane Iniki - and it looked like somebody took a lawnmower and cut everything down that was over 20 feet high.
For whirlybirds - think Blue is also a good outfit.
