Healdsburg Hotel or Healdsburg Inn

Help

Which do you recommend?

My husband and I will be in Sonoma (from Florida) in October. We've been to Napa several times and stay at the Vintage Inn in Yountville. We enjoy rooms with space and a little comfortable sitting area. I'm excited about the change of venue and great selection of wines in the Russian River and Alexander Valley.

I would like to stay at either the Hotel or the Inn. I would appreciate any feedback, as the web sites don't show the rooms in detail.

Thanks,

Linda

If you mean the Hotel Healdsburg that is right on the plaza, I was just there a couple of weeks ago. I didn't stay there, (very expensive) but it looked really great. It seemed like what I would call a boutique type hotel and had a very nice lobby with a fireplace and a little bar in a big open area. It is right across a lovely arbor from the Dry Creek Kitchen and it is walking distance to great shops and restaurants on the plaza. We ate at Zin and Willis for dinner and Dry Creek Kitchen for lunch while there. My daughter and her husband were checking it out as well for a visit in Aug. and the rooms and accomodations looked very nice. If the lobby and location are any indication, I highly recommend it.

Yes, I did mean the Hotel Healdsburg. In October rooms start at $340 up to $430. We plan to have dinner at Dry Creek Kitchen. How was Zin and Willis?

My vote goes to the Four sisters Healdsburg Inn-a much more Healdsburg vibe with local charm. I got to explore it a few weeks ago with gal pals from So Cal who were up to wine and dine. The Healdsburg Inn is right on the plaza as well.Where the HH used to be the beautiful open space, a lovely green, and now there is this hideous modern thing. I am a local, I am biased.

My fave restaurant up there is Willi's,followed by Manzanita & Ravenous. A fun lunch can be had over in the Alexander Valley at the Jimtown Store or pick up supplies up for a picnic at the Plaza Farms shops at the square. An entire meal can be had at Bovolo !

October is a fine month here-happy travels.

Thanks R5

I'm getting hungry already. Did you have a chance to look at the rooms in the Inn? If so, did they have a few chairs for sitting?
