heading to New Orleans end of March
Hello all
I am going to a hen party the end of March in New Orleans with ten girlfriends.
I will likely be swept along with the tide, but does anyone have any specific things to try to do or see should I manage to break away from the pack for a few hours (or, can convince the pack to come along?)
good restaurants, great clubs, and just some nice sightseeing? I do plan to visit the D-Day museum, for starters.
thanks

definitely check out Frenchmen Street in the Faubourg Marigny. A nice "locals" alternative to Bourbon Street and it's walking distance from the Quarter. Fun bars (Snug Harbor, DBA and Blue Nile among them) along with ethnic restaurants. Very hip area.

If you REALLY want to break away for the day, rent a car and drive 1 1/2 hours to Biloxi, MS and check out the casinos along the gulf coast!! The drive isn't boring (especially if enough "hens" go with you), seeing the gulf coast is interesting and the casinos are a fun way to spend the day (and get you away from Bourbon Street).
The Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino is owned by the same folks as the Bellagio in Las Vegas and is nearly as beautiful (if on a much smaller scale.)
Enjoy!
