This has been a few years, but we enjoyed the food at the Royal Hawaiian luau (Royal Hawaiian Hotel) the best, plus it's right in Waikiki. The setting at Paradise Cove (out at Ko Olina on the west side of the island) is beautiful, but the food wasn't so great.

I second the reco for the Royal Hawaiian's 'Aha'Aina luau:

Not cheap, and only on Mondays, but worth every penny. DH and I had a fantastic time, our tablemates were lovely people, the food was quite good, and the entertainment was top-notch. And of course, the Royal Hawaiian is a gorgeous historic resort, well worth a visit.
