Hawaii Villa/Condo Rentals?
Hi there -
My fiance and I would love to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but cannot afford to stay at the nicer resorts just yet (he's in his med. residency, and I am a post-grad student - no $$$ yet!!).
However, we have read that renting a condo or villa for each week is a great way to get nice accomodations, with saving a lot of money.
We are specifically looking at one week on Maui, one week on the Big Island. We are from New York city, so don't want to spend less than 2 weeks exploring each beautiful island.
Can anyone recommend any good rentals on either island, or at least a reputable rental agency?
Thanks so much!

Kauai North Shore is my favorite spot go online and look at photo's of all the islands before you pick. Maui has name recognition there are other islands with far more dramatic landscape. It is still pretty and you will enjoy if you go. The volcano at night is special. I would not suggest touring Islands. I have been many times and lived there just toured this last trip.
I was showing people the islands.I don't think Hawaii is about touring. It is about all the outdoor activities you can imagine but touring can put you in a mode of not appreciating what is right in front of you. This mountain looks great but let's hop along to the next beach and find a better view. Yuck we were only on the beach in front of our house once. www.vacationspot.com is a good place to start for condo rentals. http://www.hanaleihouse-kauai.com/index.html is who we rented from we had the Aloha unit top level for 128 a night plus tx and 80 dollar cleaning fee. That was a three bedroom for six people, not bad I thought.
There are also a number of rental agencies on Kauai. I am sure you will find the same on all islands. Just ask a lot of questions. Our unite on Oahu did not have curtains on windows facing the Ocean. THIS WAS ON A RENTAL I AM NOT MENTIONING so please don't confuse with above. Good Luck.

Try www.vrbo.com. It cuts out the middle man so it's much cheaper. Then go to wizardpub.com to see aerial photos of all properties.

My husband and I stayed at the Napili Surf and my sister has stayed at the Napili Sunset on Maui. Both have good rates on garden view studios.
