In September, 2012, I made a trip to Oahu and Kauai. I've posted a photo blog of the first half of that trip at http://www.worldisround.com/articles/374944/index.html if you are interested.
The link for the Kauai portion will be posted here once I have finished processing those photos.

Your photos are beautiful. My sister went with us last summer for her first trip and now has a gorgeous yellow hibiscus as her screen saver.
Thanks so much for sharing! You might want to update your copy on the Coco Palms shot. Iniki hit 9/11/92 - time sure does fly.
Enjoyed the pix!!!
Thanks for posting the photos. Kauai is a true hell-hole.
Thanks all for the kind comments.
L_G: I posted a correction. I wish I could blame time flying but it was actually a senior moment. I looked at the right date and mentally calculated the wrong number of years. Does this mean I'm living in the past?
Aahhhhhhh, blissful memories...the two "best" islands! Thank you, mahalo nui, for the pohtos!
Blood pressure drops 20 pts when I see pix of Kauai.

Well helloooooooo Calinurse.
Thanks again for the kind comments.
Kal!! You are still sharing your Hawaii wisdom here? Didnt realize--will visit more often. Fodorites are fortunatel to still have you as a Kauai resource.
Dwooddon, i am going to the Big Island in January and having second thoughts, due to your photos, darn you (-; ...shoulda chosen Kauai?? (Still, the BI deal was too good to pass up)
CaliNurse - Never fear! You'll have a great time on Hawaii too. While Kauai is my favorite island, all the others are a very close second.
Alohaaaaaa Cali...
I'm so outdated here since Kauai opinions/tastes can be wrong now.
Thanks for the great pics and comments. While we love all the islands - Kauai is our favorite (Big Island is 1-A) and we especially love the North Shore of Kauai - where we bought a timeshare way back in '86 during our 3rd visit to Bali Hai.

Good taste and bald head never go out of style.
