This one looks nice and has a great location. Haven't stayed there, though:

The holiday inn in waikiki seems to be in a good location, across the street from the royal hawaiian shopping center and the rh hotel. As i recall there is public beach access between the royal and the next hotel along the beach, the Outrigger. So you would have a pretty short walk to get to the beach.

I have not stayed there though.

Only about 3-4 miles from LAX is the Holiday Inn Crowne in Redondo Beach! It's beautiful! Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches are great, the most beautiful, clean, safest beaches in LA!

The Holiday Inn is across the street from the Marina and the famous hourse-shoe pier. It's about 2-3 miles from the 405 frwy, that'll take you most places in LA.

Santa Monica is ok,... very congested,...hard and $$$ to find parking. The 3rd street promenade is great, about 2-3 blocks of shops,... it's a open-air shopping mall---> with lots of home-less people. Venice beach? not the place to take teen-agers!!! Hope this helps!

If you've never been to Disneyland,... plan on an entire day! I mean from opening to the electric light show at about 10-11pm You'll be exhaused! It's absolutely wonderful!!! Consider staying at the Disney Hotel,... park only once,..you can than take a tram ride back and forth fr the park to your room, freshen up and back for the fireworks,... without worring about driving miles back to a hotel! Yea! I love it! I just turned 50 and I absolutely love Disneyland!

Putting in a second vote for the Crowne Plaza Redondo.

Convenient to LAX, but across the street from the beach, pier, and a walking trail that stretches from Palos Verde to Manhattan Beach. Also walking distance to several excellent restaurants.

The hotel is nicely appointed and capably staffed. One of the best in the chain.
