Sounds like you are heading to Oahu. Years ago, I did an island tour with ENO tours. It went all around the island, and it made several stops. The tour lasted pretty much all day. I'm sure there are similar tours nowadays.
You really don't need a car on Oahu. Tours and shuttle buses are plentiful. (but it IS loads of fun to drive it yourself, from Waikiki all the way around the east shore to the north shore, and down thru the center of the island)
That should be ENOA Tours... sorry.
Polynesian Adventures also does some nicely organized tours. I've used their services to visit outer islands a couple of times in the past 5 years.
