Hawaian flights between Islands

We are heading to Hawaii in July for the first time. Family of four. We are staying on Oahu for a few days are then want to head over to Maui. Should we book our flight before we leave home between the islands or is it easy to get flights the day you want to leave the island. Is it cheaper to get airfare in advance? Thanks for help

Anything can happen between now and July. There are plentuy of flights and you may save some money by booking now.But you might get a better deal by waiting.Dust off that crystal ball of yours!!

Aloha air has cheaper fares if you buy at least 2 weeks in advance. Go to their website for the best rates.

In the past it was easy and cheap to book interisland flights only one day in advance, or even the same day. However, the flight schedules for Hawaiian and Aloha have been significantly reduced in recent months. Also, neither airline is offering 'interisland coupons' any longer. Thus, the cheapest seats, on the flights you want, can be best secured by purchasing in advance. Recently when booking flights with Aloah I found that they still had set interisland fares (e.g. $69 o/w between any islands) but the price you paid ($69, $89, $100+, etc.) depended on how far in advance you made the purchase. You will not save money by waiting until the last minute, and you risk encountering full flights or undesireable flight times. IMO, you should book at least one or two months in advance.
