Have you been to Cirque Polynesia in Maui?

Just got a note from someone about the CIrque Polynesia at the Hyatt Regency Maui. We are going to Maui in November and wondering if anyone has gone to the show and/or dinner here.

Also any other good restaurants you can recommend on the island would be appreciated.. We get tired of hit and miss on restaurants on vacations.

We got free tickets for attending a timeshare "update" session. Show was OK, to me it's just gymnastics in costume and set to music ! I'm glad I didn't pay for the tickets, too $$ IMHO.

Restaurants, well I'm out of date, not there since October 2009 and things change but with that in mind . . . Halimaille(sp) General Store, Mama's Fish Hou$$$e are two perennials, never been to either, too long a hike just to eat. We don't usually go to the high end places. We like Leilani's (upstairs), Hula Grill for lunch in Whaler's Village; Napili Kai's restaurant up on Napili Bay; Kimo's, Lahaina Fish Co, Bubba Gumps (get a window, Mala Wharf in Lahaina. Buzz's Wharf, Blue something in Maalaea. Lots of others down in Kihei/Wailea and so on.

If you're in a condo get some Maui beef, steak or hamburger, and grill it up (it's so lean it's easy to overcook it) or fish from Maui Fish Market north of Kaanapali. CJ's Diner for breakfast, smoked salmon bagel is huge.

Have a great trip

While I can not address your question specifically, I can vote with Suze in saying that I too thought ‘Ulalena was a wonderful show. Study a bit of Hawaiian history before the performance and it will be even more meaningful.
