Have a few hours to spend in Dallas and Wash DC
I'm traveling for business next week and find myself with a couple of free hours in Dallas and Washington DC. I've never been to either of them, so would like to see main attractions. DC is easy, (shameful that I've never been there) I hope that I can at the very least drive around the mall and the monuments. Any Dallas suggestions? Thanks!

You could spend one or 10 hours as it has so many branches--not just the "Space and Air "part.
If you have a car--driving around is about all you will be able to do!!!
Parking is almost not existent..

Check out http://www.jfk.org. It is the website for the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. From DFW airport it is around 25-30 minutes depending on how heavy traffic is.

I usually just hang out at the airport for that amount of lay-over in Dallas.
However, if you turn left on Mockingbird out of the airport, a few miles down the street is a great discount store called Syms. They have a lot of nice designer clothes there for a good price. I bought a pair of Cole Hann shoes there for $24.00 once when I was killing time.
Shopping is one of Dallas's best past times anyway---certainly, it's a large part of their culture.

Your layover in Dallas? Assume that you're traveling thru Dallas/Fort Worth Airport ? (versus the smaller Love Field Airport) --- if you're flying on Southwest Airlines, then you'll be going thru Love Field; all the larger carriers go thru D/FW. So I'll assume it's DFW --- if you only have two hours, you really don't have much time to travel outside the airport. I certainly wouldn't think of going into downtown Dallas for the Sixth Floor Museum. The Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall is close by; a short taxi ride can get you there. Taxis in Dallas aren't as easy to come by as other cities, and so you may want to arrange with the taxi-driver going over there to return and pick you up at a designated time. I've yet to actually get to that particular mall; it's only a couple years old and so is likely nicer than you may think by term "outlet mall". Here in Dallas, we're very big on malls and people go there not only to shop, but to hang out, eat, walk around.
