I am thinking of a long weekend in Hastings. Is there good shopping there and is it a picturesque old town with charm?

Are you referring to Hastings-on-Hudson, New York in Westchester county? If you can be more specific, we'll give you some info!
Hastings, Nebraska???
Iowa > Hastings
Michigan > Hastings
Minnesota > Hastings
Nebraska > Hastings
I assume you mean Hastings, MN. If so its is a nice quiet picturesque town, but I prefer Hudson, WI just a short drive from Hastings. Hudson is on the St. Croix river which divides MN and WI. It has lots of interesting places to eat, numerous B&B's, nice downtown area, etc..
And like Nan, I assumed you were referring to Hastings-on-Hudson NY as well...just goes to show how important a good title is!
