Have not actually stayed at the Hotel Monaco...but the lobby is really nice and Cobalt, the adjoining restaurant/bar, is excellent...for what that is worth. Super location, just a couple of blocks up St. Charles, out of the Quarter mayhem.

Just stayed there last week and thought it was very nice. Large, comfortable room with spotlessly clean bathroom. I really loved the leopard skin bathrobes ( his & hers ) and thought I looked quite dashing in it.

It's a really cool hotel and would highly recommend it to you.

I got a room for $99.00 on Expedia. with tax it came to $115.00.

Jason or Michelle, Can you post how/where you get the $99.00 rate? I just went tothehotels website and they quote a room for 399.00 and up! I tried Expedia and that particular hotel doesn't come up. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I see Hotel Monaco New Orleans is listed on:

www.quikbook.com

but I have no idea what the rate is there -- it would depend on the dates, I'm sure. I haven't stayed there, but the Hotel Monaco in Chicago was great. For example, they will provide you with a pet goldfish for your stay and their mini-bar offerings included such necessities as a hand-buzzer and Silly Putty. You have to love a place that shows some creativity and "fun" as part of their plan!

I just went to the Expedia site and clicked on New Orleans hotels, put in a date and the Hotel Monaco is listed along with many other hotels. The rate was $190.00/night however. I just arbitrarily put in October 8th - 9th.

These inexpensive nights, like I got 2 weeks ago, are only offered at certain times. You may want to try Expedia again.

Good experiment, JasonToo. Using Oct. 8-9 on quikbook, I got $189 for the first night and $169 for the second.

Thanks guys! I've tried it again and it comes up. Expedia is offering a "last night free" at many of their hotels. Through October I believe. If you stay three nights, the third is free... I just may have to go for my birthday!

October is VERY busy in New Orleans so if you can get a third night free deal then it's a keeper!
