If so, what is the setting like? How about the food since this is a breakfast/dinner inclusive package? Thanks.
Has anyone ever stayed at the Freymont Inn in the NC mountains?

Yup. Several times.
The setting is ok - nothing special. Nice porches, nice views of the property, nice views of a few mountains. But it's proximity to great views is what makes it worthwhile. Bryson City is in the Smoky Mountains, but your views will come from the Great Smoky Mountain RR, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Fontana Dam, etc. It is a wonderful jumping off point with comfortable accommodations, good views and great food.
The food - excellent! Wonderful beef (prime Rib, sliced beef au jus, steaks), great trout (4 or 5 varieties) and some chicken dishes. Also lamb shanks and a few other things. Veggies served family style (3 per evening meal) salad, soup and dessert. All included in the room rate. My wife and I live less than 30 minutes away, but make the Fryemont an annual destination. Also, a full ABC bar (that's liquor and wine by the drink, for all you non-North Carolinians) and a good wine list. Breakfast equally filling, with eggs, meat, potatoes, pancakes and the like. Great coffee, too.
Rooms are varied - some not so good, some wonderful. Stay away from #123 (1st floor, by ice machine and lobby) and #111 (acrosss from #123).
Good luck and enjoy. We love it.
