OK movie buffs... we just saw the movie Hannibal and thought we recognized the Mason Verger residence as none other than the famous Biltmore Estate near Asheville. Can anyone confirm this? Also, any knowledge of whether the internal scenes were filmed there too?

Yes, exterior scenes were the Biltmore. Don't know about the interior. The pigs were not from North Carolina, however.
