Haines, AK: Eagle Preserve rafting or Chilkoot Lake kayaking?
#2
Hi, we just went to Alaska last August and I would highly recommend the Eagle Preserve rafting. We had so much fun! Saw a ton of Eagles! Got some beautiful photos. Nice leisurely float down the river, the guides were all fantastic! Our raft did get caught up on a low water area and we did get out that one time to push it off of the little rocks but that was all part of the experience! So much Fun!!!

Not on this excursion. We pretty much saw what we went to see on each excursion. Like when we went to the bear excursion in Ketchikan, we got to see some amazing bears, one mama was teaching her cubs how to fish, it was amazing to watch! When we went on our whale excursion in Juneau we saw a lot of whales and seals! All really fun excursions! We did the five days on land then down to catch the ship and a week on the ship. We actually got some amazing eagle pictures right off the balcony of our ship, they were just floating along on the ice pieces. The only other time we saw any other wildlife was on the land portion of the trip. We saw one moose on the side of the road and from the train we saw a bunch of mountain goats.
