We have always gone down to GS for a week in the summer. We stay down around 11th St. We stay on the inlet side. Any ideas of how that area is? Are the beaches accessable and user friendly? We have stayed at Compass Pointe before--how did that fare in the storms?
thanks--I appreciate all comments and suggestions

If you know GS well, and remember when it was more quiet, AND if you enjoyed that, I think you will enjoy it THIS year!
Belle.
DH came back from his meeting there 2 weeks ago, saying that the major infrastructure of the area is repaired. He DID say that there are christmas trees and little wooden fences all along the beaches, an effort to reclaim the beaches.
He also says they are not going to reopen the State Park Condos/Hotel.
I'm planning to spend a weekend there (4th ST.)with some of my family in May. Renting a friend's home (which was brand new and suffered very little damage (all repaired).
I'll bet if you call Meyer Realty or the Visitors Center, all of your specific ? could be answered!
I'm thinking (because of all the recs on this board to AVOID GS this year) that we'll have it all to ourselves!!
