Any suggestions for ground transport from PHL to Meadow Brook? It's about 40 miles, so will no doubt cost a small fortune by taxi. I am sending DH to visit his sick dad. He will have his Dad's car to use once he gets there, but just wondering about a cheaper, but still efficient, option than the taxi. He would prefer not to have a van that stops in multiple locations.

Isn't there a SEPTA stop right at Meadowbrook on the R3 (West Trenton) line?

Your husband can take the R1 Airport line from the airport terminal into Center City, then change (at any stations in Center City - 30th Street Station or Suburban or Market East) for the R3 line.
He probably can find a taxi (or call for one) when he arrives at the Meadowbrook station.
Yeah, yk's advice sounds good to me. Have DH dig up a few taxi company phone numbers and put them in his cell phone before he arrives.
There may also be a SEPTA bus connection to his specific destination from the nearest rail station, too. If you have a specific address, try typing it in as the destination on Google Transit - www.google.com/transit and just type PHL as the starting address.
