I heard it is a very nice place for kids. Where are you staying in West Yellowstone?

We are not staying in West Yellowstone. We are staying in the park but thought about stopping in on day5 of our 10 day trip for more groceries and to wash clothes.

SMom;

We just returned from YNP a couple of weeks ago. We tried to visit the discovery center, but just couldn't quite fit it in. We did hear, however that it was great - especially for kids. Another visitor told us they have feeding hours that the kids can participate in. It goes like this: the animals are removed from the cage, then the kids are invited in to place the provided food wherever they'd like. I guess most kids try to hide it. Then, we the cage is clear, they let the animals back out for feeding. Supposedly, the kids get a real kick out of the animals finding their food. Your boys might be too old, but I would call ahead and ask if you are interested in this. Good luck!

I have to say, I was really surprised at how much I liked the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. It is a chance to see those powerful bears without feeling threatened.

I would try and fit it into the center. It also has a good learning center.

They rotate the bears and hid food underneath these huge logs and it's amazing to see the bears move them like they are toothpicks.

Take the time and stop. We had stayed in West Yellowstone at the KOA, so came and went through the west entrance for 3 days.

We really enjoyed the experience.
