Went back to our recently purchased land in Catawba across the Lake from Mooresville with my 10 year old the last 3 days. Beautiful waterfront. We had a blast!! Our new neighbor soon go be Kasey Kahne won the Coca Cola 600 race and my son was thrilled as we went to the NC Nascar Hall of fame that day and he purchased a Kasey shirt and hat. We also visited Davidson College area which has a quaint downtown and beautiful College. Yesterday we went to Old Salem in Winston Salem which was nice, great antique car show also and we toured Wake Forest which was beautiful. On the way back from Lake Norman to Raleigh today we stopped at the NC Zoo in Asheville which is very big. Then stopped at Fearrington Village south of Chapel Hill, another unique looking village which is farmland with quaint shops and homes built on the land. Also known for their "Belted Cows and Goats." Look like Oreos almost.
Then ended the day with another visit to University of NC, Chapel Hill which is high on his list to attend. He has his life mapped out at an early age. Anyway back in Sarasota now, but what a wonderful state and mini vacation!!
