Many of you beat me to it. Go to Zabar's, H & H, or Barbey Greengrass and get a bagel or something and become part of the scenery.
300 bucks for brunch. I serve a buffet in may apartment for a mere $250.

A lot of what you're paying for is the view - which the OP asked for. Also a great restaurant - which Asiate is - and Sarabeth's is not. (The food is fine, but not great.)
Of perhaps s/he didn;t mean "great". When someone says that to me I assume they want upscale with a sophisticated experience, extensive menu, and truly excellent food - which we found there.)

if you can get a window table, Park Lane has been my fav for a long time---give the concierge a nice tip the night before and see if he will get you a window table for breakfast,if you get there early before the business crowd, youll get one--its old New York, but worth it
