Grand Teton Lodging

We will be in Grand Teton the very end of May. The Lodging is very expensive, any thoughts of lodging near by for two night?

Teton Village, about a mile from the Moose/Wilson entrance to the park, has several options. I stayed at the Teton Village Inn and liked it.

The town of Jackson, a few miles from the park, also has plenty of options.

We like Signal Mountain. The rooms are a bit simple, but the views are spectacular and the restaurant is good and sensibly priced. It is worth extra to be close to the mountains.

It's been 12 years since we were at Signal Mountain Lodge. The views were worth every penny we paid for our room. One of the most beautiful places I have been.

We used to stay at cabins at Coulter Bay however it's been many years so this info is NOT up to date but may be worth checking on.

My DH and I just spent 2 nights at the Colter Bay cabins in mid-September. We enjoyed it. The cabin was clean and warm. The bathroom was also super-clean. We had a cabin that is attached to another, but there are many that are single cabins. The only thing that we had a problem with was that we could hear every single thing coming from the cabin attached to ours. One night we ate at the diner in Signal Mountain Lodge, which was also great (and loved the view from the deck outside) and the next night we ate at the pizzeria at Dornan's in Moose.

Also, the night beforehand -- the night we landed in Jackson -- we stayed at the Alpenhof Inn in Teton Village and it was really nice! It was a short drive on a side road up into GT.

Are you planning to be there over the Memorial Day weekend? That corresponds with Jackson's Old West Days Celebration. You migth inquire as to how, if at all, that affects your accomodation options. I, personally, have never visited at that time of year.

The Virginian, south of Jackson is very reasonable. It's a longer drive up to the park but the price is great!
