Just booked a room at the Grand Hotel BIloxi and was wondering if anyone had stayed there and what they thought, We usually go to Vegas but always wanted to try Biloxi. Any info would be greatly appreciated. What is the differance between Biloxi and gulfport? Which is better and is there a shuttle between the two?

We go to Biloxi and Gulfport quite often. Just returned from a stay at The Grand in Biloxi last night. Gulfport and Biloxi run into one another. The Grand has two sections, The Isleview and the bay view. The bay is the newer section of the hotel. The two areas of the hotel are connected by an enclosed walkway over the highway. The bay area is located further away from the casino and the restaurants. They have a large theater at The Grand featuring broadway shows and name entertainers. The food was not as good this time at The Grand, as it has been in the past. The Beau Rivage is the most beautiful hotel in Bilox and their food at the buffet is delicious. They also have a great theater with many shows appearing there. The Beau tends to be more crowded. We enjoy staying there, too. There is a Grand Hotel in Gulfport. The new section of it, called The Oasis has lovely rooms and a huge pool surrounded by a lazy river. We enjoy Biloxi , as it is much closer than Las Vegas for us. If you have a car, it is easy to drive around and visit the various casinos and hotels for shows and gambling. There is a free shuttle that runs between the various hotels and casinos in Biloxi and Gulfport. There are also many seafood places in the area. I highly recommend lunch or dinner at The Beau Rivage. Try to go early or late for a meal as the lines are long. In Biloxi and Gulfport you have the beach area, golf and fishing if you are interested. Have fun and enjoy your trip. You also might enjoy seeing Beauvoir, the home of Jefferson Davis. The location is beautiful.
You asked about the shuttle service. I have never used it , but I checked with friends who have used the service. They say it is extremely slow,if you plan on using it to go all way down the coast road to the casinos located in the Gulfport area. There are two casinos within walking distance of Biloxi Grand and The Beau Rivage is about a mile or two down the road. You might use the Shuttle for a trip to The Beau Rivage or it would be a short taxi ride there. The shuttle is fine for the casinos right around the hotel. Hope this information is of some help to you.
Sorry , that should have been "you also ask about the shuttle". Typed the reply in a hurry.
