I am trying to decide whether or not to take my kids to a seminar with us to the Grand Hotel Marriott in Alabama in May. Is it kid friendly in May? Are pools open in May in Alabama? Any kid ideas or thoughts?

Very kid friendly and very nice pool!!Just take misquito spray...lots of Huge old oak trees. Right on the bay and you can fish/crab off the pier. Nice restaurant to view the bay also. Good Sunday Brunch!
Bring the kids by all means. Great pool. I hope you have rooms in the new spa bldg. The Grand has a beach too.
For kids- rent bikes at the hotel -one hole golf in front of dining room-walk south in front of all the houses - go to town and have ice cream at Mr Genes Beans on De La Mare -play in the park at the corner of Church and Morphy, near downtown.
Got to the National Estuary Reserve at Fish River( East on 98 towards Foley-15 minutes) where they have an educational experience-live stuff!
Have a sandwich at MaryAnn's deli or Sandra's or Andre's or Julwyn's or pizza at Pappa's
You may have made your decision already, but I'd take them. The pool (with water slide) is awesome, and you can bike on or off the grounds, as others have described. Alabama is definitely warm in May. Hotel has printed info and a concierge offering advice on activities. My son and I drove to an outlet mall in Foley (good on a wet, rainy day!).
