Grand Canyon Helicopter Ride

Hi! I am going to California for the first time with my girlfriend (we are 24 and 22), and we have limited days. We want to do the Grand Canyon in the helicopter ride, but not exclusively by air, we would like ground included in our tour too. At which time of the day would you recommend it to be done? and which kind of package should we buy? and company in particular? there are just so many we can't decide! thank you!

The Grand Canyon is mostly in Arizona. The easiest and probably cheapest way to see it for more than 10 minutes is to fly to Las Vegas and rent a car and drive to the South Rim.
The helicopter rides from Las Vegas do not fly over the National Park but over the Indian reservation that has the glass walkway that hangs over the edge.
Depending on what part(s) of California you want to see, you may want to fly from Las Vegas to either Los Angeles or San Francisco (or Oakland).

You got several responses re this on both of your other threads. The answer hasn't changed. The helicopter tours do not land in the National park and you would be limited to the west rim.

Several years ago we did take a small airplane ride to the south rim of GC which included a lunch and bus tour of the main view points in the National Park. It left very early in the morning and flew over lake Meade and up the west end of the canyon. We returned to Vegas by 6 pm.

We loved the canyon and have been back for longer stays many times since. I'm not sure they still do that kind of trip, but it was fine.

There is a company I read about called Maverick which flies in a small plane from Henderson AP to Grand Canyon AP and includes a short heli ride above the canyon, ground tour and lunch. Not cheap but a full day tour.
