I'm flying into Boston next week, getting a car and heading to Kennebunkport. Does anybody have a recommendation for a fun and good restaurant in Portsmouth, NH? I thought that might be a good lunch break stop as we make our way to Maine. We are no frills kind of people, just like good food that isn't too expensive. We'd prefer to keep it to under $15 per person.
Thanks!

This is a good question for chowhound.com - look under northern New England. We ate at Petey's on Rt 1A in Rye recently but that's out of the way. Great seafood, though. Some rave about Bob's Clam Hut in the middle of the Kittery ME outlets. You would get off I95 for the outlet malls. It's on your left. If it's a Saturday, though, would be very crowded.
Highly recommend http://www.portsmouthgaslight.com/ - awesome wood grill food right in your price range. If it's a gorgeous day and fried seafood is more your thing, enjoy the deck at Old Ferry Landing.
