Good restaurant in DC for wedding gift certificate?
Hi Everyone,
Looking for a unique gift for newlywed friends that live in DC. I am looking for a place where they could eat dinner (not including alcohol) for $100 or less. It can be funky, ethnic, fun...but unique to DC or romantic would be great! And if they have a website even better so that I can contact them for a certificate. Also, the couple actually lives in Springfield, VA, so somewhere that wouldn't take them 2h to get to would be good!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I'd recommend Firefly, Zola, Notti Bianche or Palena. All are in DC.
For something more around Springfield I would look at the Great American restaurants. They have a website so you could probably order a gift card directly. They are all great but none of them are funky, ethnic or all that romantic.

Dear AZWildcat,
Hello! So funny to see this post b/c my husband and I received a gift certificate to a DC restaurant as a wedding gift! Ours was to Jaleo and it turned out to be a really, really neat place (we were in our early twenties)!! The décor when we went was very cool: intimate setting, lower lighting, unique table tops and dinnerware, etc. I would consider it a unique choice! Unfortunately, Im not sure the distance from Springfield, VA… I do know that the restaurant is near the MCI Center.
Heres their website:

Good luck!

I like Red Sage on 14th St in DC but the food isn't really unique to DC. www.redsage.com
