Good jazz club near Gerald Schoenfeld theater ?

I am searching deeply into my wonderful resources on this site. We are going to see the Orphans at 700PM on a Tuesday night at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. I have not been able to figure out how long it is - 2 hours ?
Wondering if there are jazz clubs not too far away- walking or cab ride distance away, that would be a fun to check out after the show.
Can anybody make any suggestions ? Thanks very much !

Birdland is quite close. Here's a calendar, since I don't know the date you are going.

Since Orphans has not yet opened, they haven't announced a length of the show -- but you can probably find it on Playbill.com once it has previewed for a while (maybe a couple weeks from now).

Thanks for recommending Birdland. We have been there and enjoyed it. We wondered if there are other smaller venues, intimate little places that are less known but should be checked out. I appreciate your suggestions.

The Allen room at Jazz at Lincoln Center often has interesting later night stuff.

Thanks for the replies. Actually just got back from NYC and did go to the Dizzy Club at Time Warner where the Allen room is as well. There are 930 PM shows and even later some nights. The club has a wait list to accommodate walk ins and it looked like with the walk ins the club fills up nightly. It is a nice venue.
