Can anyone recommend a decent hotel with a lively bar scene? I stayed at the Stamford Holiday Inn a couple of times, but the bar is dead - even on a Friday night. Any place from Stamford down into Westchester would be good. Thanks for the help!

The Greenwich Hyatt Regency is upscale, but the bar scene is a couple of blocks down the street at the Boxing Cat restaurant.
Vin I can tell you anything you need to know about the area. The Hyatt is old and stuffy and the night scene is roughly prehistoric. The Boxing cat was the place about 5 years ago. The new places in Greenwich are as follows:
BLEU Greenwich Avenue/Club VIe Post Road/Bomba Field Point Rd/ New hotel on water is called the El Dorado CLub and is brand new this month.
The BOxing Cat is for desperate old women and aging car salesmen to hook up, almost depressing ( friend of mine was manager whenit was hot ) he has since moved to Bleu. The Howard johnsons in Riverside has a new bar restaurant called the Good Life Good Food fun people at the bar.
Stamford Marriot is boasting a new club, can't remember the name but is get's alot of advertising. No personal experience. If you can go to Norwalk the SONO section is the place to be. You can walk from MArtini bar to coffe house to celebrity restaurant all night long. One new place is owned by one of the soprano's it's called Bambou. hope this helps We live in Stamford so if you need any more info just ask.
