good eats in Santa Barbara

Hi gang,

The wife and I are celebrating our anniversary up in Santa Barbara next month, and I'm looking for a nice romantic place for dinner. I was thinking of The Harbor Restaurant on the Pier, but found an SB forum with a lot of really bad [and recent] reviews. Can you suggest a few places that wont break the bank and or be over-run with college kids? Many thanks! NWG

oh yeah, there is a bird refuge across from "East Beach" a few miles south of State St. Behind it there was this neat retaurant, I think maybe it was french, white, with a lot of glass, I seem to remember it almost looked like a greenhouse. Anybody know what is is called or if it's good? Thanks Clark!

Stella Mare's near the refuge is very good, but on the pricey side I guess. I think the website is stellamares.com

There's a restaurant on the wharf that people like, I think it's called SB Seafood company....but probably not "romantic".

Hi neal..
I like the Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch which is simply a gorgeous property in Montecito..
The Wine Cask is really good too.

Have a wonderful anniversary!

Here's another vote for the Wine Cask. We really enjoyed our dinner there!
