Good Eats in Ft. Meyers Beach

Where are the best restaurants in Ft. Myers Beach, FL? I will probably be staying at the DiamondHead Beach Resort on Estero Blvd right by Times Square.

I like seafood, italian, american, mexican and others. I am trying to follow a low carb way of eating - we'll see how that goes. If certain places have great service and are flexible, that may be a plus.

Need help quickly because I waited till the last minute!! Leaving 4/13th for 5 nights. Thanks!!!

You like all types of food and can't find a restaurant? I wish I had such problems!

Go to chowhound.com . It's a great resource for foodies, and organized geographically.

My favorite restaurant is the Prawnbroker on the corner of Daniels(airport road)and McGregor Blvd. Excellent seafood, nice atmosphere, great service. Never had a bad meal there, and I've been going there for many, many years. (my parents lived in Ft Myers for 20 yrs) It's a little drive from where you're staying, but an easy one and well worth it. ps...about the Atkins thing- fresh fish and good veggies, salad is the best way to go. Eat more beans/whole grains. Skip the white bread/pasta and all refined sugars. Read Dr Bob Green's book, or Dr Bob Arnot or Walt Willett. Atkins is a quack.

Diamond Head is not that close to Times Square - walkable, but not real close.

GulfCoast Grille right on the beach is great. The restaurant has two parts, an outside bar/grille and an inside restaurant. Both are good, but the food inside is great.

We travel to FMB every year for the last ten years. For breakfast try the Greek place in Times Square. Good food and you are out doors. Also try the Gulf shores for breakfast and lunch. The beached whale has a good grouper sandwich best eaten on the top deck with a pitcher of beeer. Go out to Sanibel for a nice pscale dinner at Dolce Vita (dressy) make reservations. Also continue to Bubble Room on captiva.
RENT A CAR.
You are going during the end of spring break so it will be crowded. We actually arrive on the evening of the 19th and hopefully the crowds will be gone. Try Anthonys and Charlie Brown. Go towards Bonita Springs and on your right is Doc's Beach house bar and restaurant.
