Good Breakfast and Lunch Place in Anchorage and Seward
I was wondering if anyone could help me find a good breakfast lunch and dinner places in Anchorage, Seward or places in between. Any help would be appreciated and budget is not a problem

Brewcrew..there's a place downtown Anchorage that is your namesake..it's the Glacier Brewhouse. I don't know about bfast...but lunch or dinner. It came highly recommended for our trip, and it did not disappoint...wonderful!!! In between...Girdwood...we had our best meal...the Double Muskey...OMG>>>albeit $$$$...worth it...I would strongly recommend reservation!!! The restaurant at the top of the mtn. behind the Alyeska Resort was also a lovely dinner destination...beautiful view too. In Seward, we had a great seafood lunch at a very popular place just as you're coming into Seward, along the water's edge. Hopefully, Budget Queen can name the spot~~~~~she's a great help for your itinerary!!! Enjoy your trip...

Ok I know the Glacier Brewhouse had their own web site as I found it and printed it, does Rays in Seward have one? If so would you mind posting it. DH and I will be there in June will be overnight at Seward as we are booked for two tours and will be overnight and dinner is on our own. TIA

Glacier Bay is excellent! I worked in Anchorage for a month, and my team and I often ended up there most evenings.
There's a little bar & grill place on the side street between the Hilton and the federal building. (I can't remember the name!) You'll know it because they have a huge block of cheese on the bar. YUMMY fresh fish and good local beers, too.
Club Paris and the Top of the World (in the Hilton) are both good for more elegant dining.

Downtown Deli on 4th for a politically correct breakfast (meaning, it's owned by a former governor 
. Good bagels and omelets.
If you want to get away from fellow tourists, try Aladdin's on Old Seward Highway for some of the best middle eastern food anywhere. Also Mexico in Alaska on Old Seward for pretty good Mexican food.
For a fun "locals" burger place with creekfront tables, try the Arctic Roadrunner (also on Old Seward). Great onion non-rings (not for the cholesteral-challenged.)

Neither the Moose's Tooth or the Double Musky take reservations but don't be discouraged due to the wait. The Moose's Tooth is a very popular brew pub for all ages. Terrific salads & pizza. The Double Musky another very popular restaurant in Girdwood, about 20 miles south of Anchorage is pricey but the food is outstanding. It's in a old log cabin with an Alaskan ambiance - a place you would take good friends or family visiting Alaska. Both of the foregoing places serve not only good food but the portions are large. You will require a very big appetite. Also the Double Musky is open only for supper whereby the Moose's Tooth is open for lunch & supper.

Haven't been to Marx Bros. recently, but when I was last there, it was quite good. They also run the restaurant at the Museum of History & Art in Anchorage, and I understand the lunches are quite good, so that might be another way to try their food. Along those same upscale lines, I adore Sacks Cafe downtown (which is probably why I haven't made it over to Marx Bros. recently!), and Simon & Seafort's (which I understand is quite reasonably priced for lunch, I've only had dinner there). Glacier Brewhouse has great food & a gorgeous building - but, with all that wood, it so darn noisy inside! Have had an nice lunch downtown at the Snow Goose (& they have outdoor seating in nice weather & their own brewery, the Sleeping Lady); haven't tried them for dinner.
An out-of-the-way upscale choice in Anchorage is Southside Bistro on Huffman Park at the Huffman Exit on Seward Highway - not on the radar screen for most tourists no doubt, but this place is awesome.
Breakfast in Anchorage - Gwennie's on Spenard. Big portions. Old Alaskan ambiance. Good for lunch too.
I adore Moose's Tooth, but heck, it is impossible to get a table there, even on like a Tuesday night in January. Be prepared to wait...I give up & just get carry-out...but, I'm bad, I'm getting it weekly now! Beartooth Grill (in the building with the Beartooth Theatre) near the corner of Spenard & Northern Lights is owned by the same people & all my friends say the food is great there too, I've been meaning to try it.
There are Mexican restaurants all over the place in Anchorage, and I think I've tried them all (Mexican food being a particular favorite of mine.) None of them really stand out as particularly outstanding or bad. Mexico in Alaska (someone else mentioned it) is probably one of the better ones - but, they don't have a full liquor license, so you can only get beer or wine (or a 'wine margarita') - not a real margarita, if that is important to you.
In Girdwood, Jack Sprat & Chair 5 are both fun for sort of mid-price, creative food...Jack Sprat a little more creative, Chair 5 a bigger menu & pizza as well. Had Christmas Dinner at Seven Glaciers - gorgeous restaurant, but very pricey for their regular menu, might be more reasonable for lunch - and if you have a reservation to eat up there, you get to ride the tram for free.
Between Girdwood & Anchorage - Indian House has great burgers with their own 'beluga fries' - seasoned homemade potato chips in various flavors. Good for lunch or a less fancy dinner (although they do also have steaks & such on the dinner menu.)
In Seward, there is a nice local's diner (I can't remember the name, on one of the main streets with gift shops, down near the SeaLife Center end of town, not the docks). Smallish diner, half-circle counter in the center, tables all around the rest, usually a signboard out front on the sidewalk advertising specials. Anyway, they have wonderful breakfasts & great fried halibut for lunch(obviously, this is not fancy food, just good, basic stuff!).

For clairfication, Girdwood is close to 40 miles from Anchorage, not 20.
I too like the Indian House, great view too. Very casual with good home cooked food.
I was at the Marx Cafe in 2004, yes worth the price in my opinion. Snow Cafe is also great if looking for casual.

This may go against popular opinion, but I was not impressed by the Glacier Brewhouse and they seem to be more pretentious than they need to be. It's a casual, hip brew pub and not much more.
In my opinion, one can do much better by driving a short distance to the Southside Bistro <www.southsidebistro.com>. It is located in a partially hidden strip mall in South Anchorage. The exact address is 1320 Huffman Park Drive. However, don't let the undistinguished exterior fool you. This is a standout restaurant with a warm and friendly ambiance, very creative menu and excellent service. The check wont break the bank either.

Another vote for Marx Bros. We were there August 2005 and loved it. Thought it was worth the $$ but we're "foodies". Rachel Ray (food network) featured it on one of her travel spots along with other places in Anchorage.

I'm a flight attendant and go to Anchorage once or twice a year. I don't know how my suggestions will rate with those who are more familiar, but there are two places we (crews) always go. Lunch at the White Spot (cafe? diner?). It's small, has a small table and diner style counter top, the service is rugged, and they have a GREAT halibut plate/sandwich.
Humpys is a fun, laid back place with a good beer selection. Their fish tacos are good and spicy!

We liked the places right next door to everyone else's favorites! In Anchorage, Glacier Brewhouse was an 80 minute wait. We walked next door and saw Orzo ... the menu captivated me. We couldn't get in that night but went for lunch on the day we flew out. I had one of my best meals ever in my life!
In Seward, Rays had a huge wait so we went downtown. All the restaurants we could find were full of smoke. I simply can't eat breathing in noxious smoke, so we went back to Rays - still crowded and we were really hungry & didn't want to wait. We noticed Chinooks next door - the menu looked great and it was non-smoking! We had a fantastic meal and the restaurant is beautiful, and you get to sit by enormous windows so you can watch what's going on at the docks. We enjoy it so much that we went back for lunch another time.
