We are heading to CA this summer (Aug) for a week. We are looking for a good beach town where we could renta a house walking distance or on the beach. We were thinking La Jolla but since we are interested in a lot of day trips in the area including Disney in Anaheim, La Jolla seemed too far south. Will also be doing Legoland 1 day and the wild animal park one day. Wed like to be in a town where there are things to walk to i.e. restaurants to go to at night with kids. Any suggestions where there might also be a good rental market for beach houses would be great.
Thanks!
Good beach town for rental with kids between LA and SD?

I have taken my kids to Huntington and Newport Beach/Balboa. Also have been to Huntington, Santa Monica, Venice pre-kids...Huntington and Newport Beach are both pretty close to the Mouse.
Here is a thread from 3 years ago which talks about these more. If you do a google search of this site, you should find more relevant threads.
