GOLF in early May 2000

We are going to be in Arizona,driving from the Grand Canyon to Phoenix and back to Vegas. We want to golf. I was hoping to get some feed back and advice. We are looking at golfing at Sedona Golf Resort and would like another but perhaps a more reasonably priced course in the Phoenix area. What is Emerald Canyon in Parker like as a course? Any other suggestions regarding golf or other Arizona must sees? Thanks.
