...I for a weekend in October as a gift for my mother. We were going to visit the spa there one day, stay over one night (not at Mohegan Sun), then spend the next day in Mystic. Do any of you have any suggestions/recommendations for an affordable place to stay over in the area? Perhaps a B&B?? Thanks!

There is a Comfort Inn (or is it a Day's Inn) just around the corner on Route 32 in Montville (it may be listed as "Uncasville". They likely have shuttles that bring you to and from the casino on a regular basis. It's new, so it's probably a bit nicer than some of the other cheaper hotels. However, if you want atmoshphere or a B&B- stay in Mystic instead.
Thanks for the lead. I was originally looking for places in Mystic, but thought perhaps I could find something a bit more affordable in one of the surrounding towns.
A couple of years ago we stayed at the Pleasant View Inn in Westerly RI short drive right on the ocean very nice.
I know they have a website.
I might suggest contacting visitor services at Mohegan Sun directly. The customer service there is really detail oriented and I'm sure someone there might be able to steer you toward something with a bit more personality than a chain motel that won't bust your budget. Mystic isn't the closest town to Mohegan Sun that has B&Bs. Try www.mysticand more.com for some leads.
