Going from Savanah to thru Smokey Mountains and to the Blue Ridge

Hello all. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. I really need your help.
We are going to a wedding in Raleigh. the week is the first week of November. To take advantage of the trip I want to see the Fall's change of color. I am well traveled but have never experienced the change of color on the leaves. I would love to see as much of this as possible.

I will be driving from Miami Beach. I plan to stay one or two nights in Savanah.

From Savanah I would like to head to the mountains via the Smokey Mountains. this is my preference since I love mountains, tress, nature.

I was planning then to go to the Blue Ridge Mountains and then drive for a bit and continue to

Stop at Biltmore Castle - I want to stay here or near for at least two nights.

Then go to the wedding in Raleigh.

My questions -

what do you think of my plan?

What sceninc roads do you recommend?
Can you suggest a route for me? the best scenic one?
I would like to stay in a Cabin at least one night or two? any suggestions as to where? Smokey or Blue Ridge or both?

At Biltmore - any suggestions as to where to stay? Any other suggestions on this area.

Will a week be enough?

Please help. thank you,

The wet summer and fall have delayed the colors so the mountains will probably show color but maybe not as much as usual by that time.
I would consider some time in Charleston, rather than another day in Savannah.
A week can be enough but you need to put your driving time in. I think you have a bit more than that as you have laid it out.
You might check the Groupon site for cabins in or near the Smokies--they advertise some that look quite nice.

Here is the report for Asheville--there are others for the Smokies. I read a headline in our paper that seemed to say the colors were not changing yet but that seems to be incorrect.

I have NO interest in this place but there was a travel insert in our paper yesterday and featured the Sourwood Inn, a B&B about 13 miles (I think) from Asheville, with beautiful views. Looks really nice.

Thank you for taking the time.
Any suggestions about the scenic route I should take?

From Savanah via the Smokey Mountains? Then to go to the Blue Ridge Mountains to Biltmore Castle ?

Savannah to Charleston up I26 to Asheville. Take a look at the map. Again, Charleston over Savannah.

We do this trip all the time from Orlando. Savannah is one of our favorite places. We like Charleston too, but Savannah is more our speed. It is also much more convenient to Asheville. From Savannah to Asheville it is about 4 1/2 hours straight up I-26, Charleston is another couple hours driving time.

Ummm, since you have to go to Charleston to get to I26, you have it backwards--Savannah is 4:45 minutes to Asheville. Charleston is the terminus of I26--about 4 hours.

Ummm, no you don't have to go to Charleston to get to I-26. I-95 intersects with I-26 60 miles west of Charleston. Therefore if you are coming from Florida it is an hour to Charleston from 95 and an hour back to 95 from Charleston (2 hours out of the way). Savannah is right on the way to Asheville from Florida. Believe me, I have made this drive more times than I care to count.

Gotcha.
Had hoped the OP will go to Charleston for a day or so en route.
