We will be staying inside the park for 3 days and made these reservations months ago. Now we have one more night that we can stay in that area. Does anyone know of a close place to stay outside the park on the east side? We are staying in Swiftcurrent Inn 2 days prior to that.

East Glacier Park Village has several establishments. They are on the Goggle map and then you could look up reviews.
Isaac Walton Lodge on the south side along US2 at Essex. They even have one of Amtrak's few flag stops on the Empire Builder.
Enjoy the Going-to-the-Sun road and all the wildlife.
Thanks, does anyone know the distance from Grand Teton to Missoula and about how many hrs to drive.
Google maps should give you an estimate of distance and time.
Tetons to Missoula can be a LONG trip. You can either head north through Yellowstone and see some sights or head over the pass and through Idaho, Island Park, Henry's Lake up to I-90. Either way expect 7 hours MINIMUM to Missoula - but you will really want to allow more; the scenery is amazing and there are lots of neat sites along the way!
Explore the area called Many Glaciers--it is beautiful.
Glacier NP continues in Canada as Waterton Lakes Lakes National Park--together they are known as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. Since you will be on the east side of Glacier, it is not a long drive to Waterton, and it is very much worth the effort.
