Getty Dining

Just returned from a visit. We ate in the cafeteria. It was good. Has anyone eaten at the dining room upstairs?...also we paid $46.00 ppfor a tour (from Anaheim). The guide was terrible.Next time we are going on our own!Is it difficult to park there?

Hi Gail -
The parking is very easy, especially if you have a reservation. There's no reason not to do it yourself on your next visit. Make sure to check out the garden if that wasn't included on your tour.

I've eaten at the cafeteria (which is quite good for a cafeteria style restaurant). I've also dined at the main restaurant, which was very good. I went on a Saturday morning for a brunch and was quite pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of choices and the fruits and vegetables were very fresh. On a clear day, the view from the restaurant is remarkable. While not a cheap place to dine, it is a nice experience and worth the money in my opinion.

ditto as to the last post---i went on a weekend and you don't need a reservation, but there was along line to park---you can park at the holiday inn on 405 and take a shuttle--it is spectacular

We had lunch (with reservations) in the dining room. It was excellent! Not cheap but equivalent to going to any other really upscale restaurant for lunch in LA, only the view was better. The parking was easy -- but again we had reservations.

Museum is one of the greatest in the world. The fine dining restaurant rates
4/5,price is fair for LA. When we were there Julia Childs was seated at the next table. Parking, make a res.

As for guided tours, try their self-guided audio tours. The descriptions are very good, and you can go where you want at your own pace.

I should clarify the BUS TOUR guide was awful. The employees of the museum were great! Thanks for the info on parking. I had no idea it was free.We will definitely make reservations.
