Getting to the Hollywood Bowl

We're going to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl soon and staying at the Renaissance. Any suggestions on the best way to get there from the hotel? Is it walkable? Safe to walk back after the concert? Taxi? Drive there? I know parking is limited and they run shuttles. Would appreciate hearing from someone with experience. Also, do they allow you to bring stadium seats if you have a bench ticket?
Thanks, Jan

We once parked on the other side of Hollywood Blvd from the Renaissance and walked. It wasn't that bad. It sure beat the hour we waited to be able to move our car after one of the times we drove and we were blocked in what seemed like forever.

The shuttles I'm aware of would be further to get to than the Bowl itself from your hotel.

Safe to walk back? Well except for the incredible traffic, sure. You will definitely be able to walk the distance in less time that in a taxi or car.

My husband and I walked once too. We also had VIP valet once. That was nice I would say if you're in good shape, go ahead and walk. It's a slight uphill, but honestly, the other poster is right. You'd spend more time shuttling from the Renaissance.

Have fun! The bowl is awesome. Not sure what you mean by stadium seats. Do you mean those folding padded things? Yes, they allow those.

Thanks for both your replies- very helpful. One more question, if you don't mind. Being an outdoor venue, I'm assuming anything goes for dress? I'm stuck in running shoes with a heel issue at the moment, so looking at jeans and running shoes.

I'd have to say the "dress code" at Hollywood Bowl concerts is about as lax as any could be. Other than total nudity, I'm not sure there's anything you could wear that would raise an eyebrow, and frankly I'm not too sure even about that.
You do know to take your own wine or drinks and snacks or even full picnic -- right?

You mentioned going "soon", so I take it you're going in May? Keep in mind that you are going to want to wear layers, and yes, jeans and running shoes are standard "dress" for us L.A. folks. You will get warm walking up to the Bowl, and depending on where your seats are located, it could be a bit of a hike. There are places to picnic before the concert across the street from the Bowl, and also at the Bowl on the lower level. They also have picnic style dinners there by Patina, as well as a small wine shop that also does picnic style food.

Once in your seats, you are likely to get cold (anything under 70 degrees to us is "cold"), so you'll want to take a jacket or heavy sweater for this part of the year.
