To me, the salient point is that two human beings lost their lives.
I don't doubt that at all. 10,000 or more also lost their lives in the tsunami, but we also need to deal with the possibility of other contamination. AND people are impacted by a tragedy--not only for lives, but for the environment. Sorry if I seemed indifferent.
How has this impacted the hotels closer in to Gatlinburg that are along the creek? We are staying at the Best Western Zoders in late June. Wife wants a room with a balcony over the creek.
We were in Gatlinburg 2 days after this happened and it did not effect Gatlinburg. The spill was between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in the Spur and im sure by now it is long gone and has made its way to the French Broad and Tennessee river by now. When we were there we didnt notice no sewage or smells at all so I would not worry to much about it.
