Gabrielle

Could anyone give me their review on the restaurant Gabrielle? I have reservations for next Friday and am really looking forward to it - we understand it's terrific and would love to hear anyone's experience.

Thanks!

Do you mean Gabrielle in New Orleans? If so, it's very good. My folks eat there almost every time they visit New Orleans.

Forgot to mention: get the barbecue shrimp pie. Wonderful!

Hi Dan, yes that's the one. I am so glad to hear a great review. I have read mixed reviews but you never know. What is fabulous to one person is just awful to someone else. I am assuming you are a man of taste.

Thanks! There are those who may dispute your assumption (!) but I do enjoy eating out. My folks are BIG-TIME food critics so if they like Gabrielle then it's OK by me.

Have you eaten there yourself? Also, the other bars I plan to visit are the Carousel Bar at the Monteleone Hotel, The Napoleon House, The Dungeon, The Shim Sham Club for the Sat. night Glitter Glam Show, Preservation Hall and of course, Pat O'Brien's. I really love to visit places that are super unusual. Oh - I almost forgot - Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop.

I have eaten there a couple of times. No complaints from me although, like I said, my mom & dad are the tougher crowd to please.

Club list is good. Shim Sham can be a lot of fun!

I am embarrassed to say that I've never dined at Gabrielle. Friends of mine swear by it, so I think you'll be pleased.

The Sonniers run Gabrielle and they do a nice job. They used to have another restaurant, Gamay in the French Quarter, but they sold it recently. One note; Gabrielle is small so make reservations!
