Fun towns to visit around Pelican Rapids, MN

Hi ! We're leaving tomorrow for Lake Lida, and last year we found fun places to visit with fun shops. Anybody know where we can go this year ? Thanks for any suggestion !

Hi- we have a cabin up near there and there are lots of fun little towns to visit.

We like Perham (sp?), cute downtown with lots of quaint shops. Vergas also has a cute little downtown as well-- the downtown is smaller though than Perham.

There is also a flea market on weekends off on 59...go straight north on 59 from Pelican Rapids and it is near the Detroit Country Club on the left hand side.

As for places to eat, we like The Hotel in Shoreham. There is also a more fancier place on Detroit Lakes but I can't remember the name of it-- great prime rib!

Have a great time-- hopefully, we will have some good weather!

You can spend an entire day in Perham, poking around the gift shops and such. Go east on Hwy. 108 until you come to Hwy. 78, then north (can't miss it). Pretty scenery along 108, also.

About 22 miles north of Pelican on Hwy. 59 is Detroit Lakes. The fun place to eat along the public beach is the original Zorbaz. (If that place could talk!!) Lakeside Lodge is good too, but not rustic. Detroit Lakes has a super Walmart, in case you need domestic supplies and there's movie theatres downtown.
