Fun things to do in Scottsdale/Phoenix?

Hi, I'll be in Scottsdale (husband's business trip, staying at the Millenium, McCormick Ranch) next week. I use to live in Tucson and will drive down to visit friends for a day but would like to hear about unusual, fun, interesting things to do in the area since I'll be on my own. Any suggestions?

We were in Scottsdale in July and visited the Botanical garden and Phoenix Art Museum. You can do both in a day.

Hi. I hear the food at the Scottsdale Airport is fantabulous. The restaurant is called the Blue Fig, might be an interesting outing. There is lots of interesting shopping, El Pedregal, The Borgata, Scottsdale Fashion Square. Also you can get a great massage on Saturday and Sunday at the Phoenix Massage School, for $20 - $30.
What are you interests, shopping, spa, outdoors?

Thank you all for your great suggestions. I know of the Borgata and the Fashion Mall, but another place for shopping was mentioned - where is that located. I'll be perfectly honest that this is a time to sit by the pool with a great book and relax from a great deal of stress. How's the weather down your way?

If you haven't done so already, type Scottsdale in the search for this site and you'll get tons of information on your question.

For shopping, Kierland Commons at Scottsdale Road and Greenway......El Pedregal is on North Scottsdale Road, on the way to Carefree/Cave Creek.

My daughter spent a week in Scottsdale in June with her friend's family. The shopping at the places mentioned in the previous post was one of her favorite things about this trip!! ***kim***
