We have been to the Hands On Museum several times and need another outlet to take two small children (4 and 2) in Ann Arbor or nearby. Family lives in Brighton. Maybe someone knows of an interesting place in that area also. Any ideas welcome to entertain two young ones.

New York, New York...my kind of town

In Ann Arbor, there's the Matthei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. The Botanical Gardens has an exhibit of decorated lawn flamingos through September 30, although programs and exactly what to see would depend on when you're visiting. Admission to the both are free. If they like dinosaurs, you may also try the Museum of Natural History on the U of M Campus, however many exhibits are probably geared toward school-age students.
Another possibility is Crossroads Village in Flint. It's about an hour north of Brighton. They have several historic buildings with costumed interpreters and performers, a narrow-gauge railroad, carousel, and replica steamboat. Check www.genesseecountyparks.org/crossroadsvillage.htm.
