Fun restaurant for kids before Broadway play
Any recommendations...it will be a full day of sightseeing so we want a fun place to stop for dinner before going to Lion King.

For a fun place to eat that I think both you and the girls will get a kick out of, try:
Jekyll & Hyde Club
1409 Avenue of the Americas
website: www.eerie.com
We went there with our daughters (ages 10 and 12) and they loved it. Depending on the night, there may be a long line to get in. Ask your hotel concierge if they can get you a "VIP" pass. My understanding is that this gets you in without waiting in line. We got one from our hotel concierge, but when we arrived, there there was no line. We gave it to them anyway and I think we got a good table as a result.
I don't want to tell you too much about this place because some of the things are best if you are surprised!
We went in Feb and saw the Lion King - was very impressed with the show. Parents and kids all thought it was great.

Another cool place is Mars 2112. The restaurant has a dark space theme and the food is pretty good. When you enter you stand on a line and get into a ship (it's really just a fancy elevator)and blast off...

We went to Mars 2112 also, and definitely preferred Jekyll & Hyde. The "space ship" ride was neat, but we thought the food & service was not very good, and the place was too dark and loud for me. Kids liked it though.

A great idea is the Stardust Diner on Broadway. All the servers sing, and you may get them to get your girls up to sing with them.
It's a fun place and decent food, (I love the Monte Christo sandwiches), it's a fries and shake kind of place but a decent menu.
Have a great time Lion King will knock their socks off.
