Brenda - We have done the brunch at the Marriott Marina located just across the canal from the Hyatt and it was very good. Also, we have had the brunch at Martha's in Hollywood and it was also very good. We are looking for a new brunch to try ourselves when we go down in about a week.

Brenda - Fort Lauderdale is one of our favorite places in FL. and in fact we ae going there next week again. For GREAT Italian there is Bravo Italiano which is located on 17th ST. just a short distance from the Marriott after you cross the causeway. It will be on your right in a shopping plaza with a good size sign at roadside. Not sure about Chinese and Mexican as we usually have mostly seafood , French and Iatalian. There is a good B-B-Q place to go with kids on the intra-coastal on Oakland Park Blvd. which is very close to where you are staying on Sunrise. It is the Roadhouse Grille. Located on your left if you take A1A to Oakland Park Blvd. from Sunrise. Take left onto Oakland Park then just after you cross the intracoastal it is located on your left. Can't miss it, it is right on the water. Shooters Cafe which is located almost directly across the waterway from Roadhouse Grill would also be popular with teenagers I believe. Outside or inside dining. Just up A1A at the foot of Commercial Blvd. right at the ocean is the Aruba Beach Cafe that has a varied menu both lunch and dinner and seems to be popular with everyone, every age. We usually always stop there for lunch. Very casual. If you are interested in some seafood or French (unpretentious) recommendations just ask. Almost forgot the Casablanca Cafe which is good with outside/inside dining located right on A1A across from the beach. Many two for one specials there for lunch last time we were there, but we have only done dinner there. Unlimited great places to eat in Fort Lauderdale from fast food up to 5 star. Las Vegas Cuban on Oakland Park as well I believe is pretty tame and should appeal to all of you. It is one your right in a strip mall just a bit farther than where you would turn for Roadhouse Grill. Let me know what else you may be interested in.

Brenda - I need to correct a mistake I made. The Roadhouse and Las Vegas Cuban are actually on Commercial Blvd. NOT Oakland Park Blvd. We just returned last night and found a great German place on this visit. It is the Old Heidelburg <sp> and is located on State Road 84 which is just up about a half mile towards the airport from 17th Street. Our recent visit to Sage French Cafe was as good as always and a must do for each of our visits. Hope you read this correction in time before you leave for FL.

Thanks Harry. We just returned from Ft. L 4/1. Stayed at the Doubletree Suites and ate at several nice places. Cheesecake Factory, The River House (Sun brunch), Shooters, Big Louie's, etc. I appreciate all your suggestions. Ft. L was a very cool city. Really enjoyed the water taxi tour and seeing the beautiful waterfront mansions and yachts. Can't wait to plan our next trip! Looking for a fabulous all-inclusive island destination if you have any ideas!

Brenda - Glad to hear that you enjoyed Fort Lauderdale. We looked at some rooms at the River House for a possible stay sometime. Our favorite island destination is Aruba that has a couple all-inclusives but we usually don't go A/I since there are so many great places to dine around the island. The other nice feature of Aruba is that it is outside the hurricane belt in the Caribbean, so no major storms there. Jamaica has the most A/I resorts but we definitely weren't impressed with the island. Of course this is only our opinion, many love Jamaica. They started A/I in Jamaica as a way to keep guests at the resorts because of the crime on the island. One of the "new" favorite places to go is the Dominican Republic which has many A/I resorts.
