Ft. Lauderdale in February

I'm a single mom taking my daughter to Ft. Lauderdale in February. We are there for four days before we move on to Orlando. Any suggestions for what we can do? She's a sporty on the go kid. Money is an issue and I don't have a lot to spend.

We were in Ft Lauderdale last week and the temps were 65-70. One thing that we enjoyed was Las Olas Riverfront. You can take the "Water Bus" for a $5 tour. You can jump on and off. It's good for all day.

Usually it is nice beach weather in February. I've been going there every Feb. for 15 yrs. Last year however was cold and rainy, so there is always a chance that it will be cool.

We have entertained our kids many times in FLL during the breaks. On a nice day the strip beach is great as you can walk and get a snack or shop all right there. But if it is not the best beach day go to the childrens museum and see an IMAX movie they are wonderful. Also there is alot to do in the new Riverfront boat rides,bands, shopping,great restaurants.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just afraid we are going to sit around for four days, or be in one spot the whole time and when we get back find out about all the stuff we missed and could have done.

Do you have a car?
Here are some ideas:
Beach, but the water is cold;
Carrie B boat ride (2 for 1 coupons are everywhere) Amout 1 1/2 hour ride along intracostal;
Boomers in Davie area off I-95 games, roller coaster, arcade
Drayer Park Zoo in Lake worth area Easy to get to zoo that takes a bout an hour or so to stroll around;

Get a day pass for the water taxi and a map. There are lots of places to get off and walk around.The Riverwalk, Las Olas Blvd. shops,lunch at an outdoor restaurant (I think Shooters is the name of the one we like-you can get dropped off there,eat lunch, and get back on. From the Riverwalk you can go in the shops, go to a movie, or catch a cruise of the canals there. At Bahia Mar you can get on the Jungle Queen-a tour of the canals with a stop at an Indian village. There is also a fast boat ride called the Screemer I think that you can get in Pompano and it goes on the ocean along Ft. Lauderdale.
